ダニエル・ラサールは、トロンボーンとサックバットという2種類の楽器で、類まれな妙技と音楽性を表現してきているということで、国際的に名声を得ている。1982年にトゥールーズ音楽院でトロンボーン（全会一致の金メダル）と室内楽で1位を受賞した。更にラサールは、楽器奏者として資質を評価され、パリ国立音楽院から満場一致でトロンボーンの最優秀賞を受賞した。 ラサールは、教育者としての訓練を受け、1984年に音楽教師、1992年にトロンボーン教師としての資格を得た。そして現在ラサールは、リヨン国立高等音楽院のサックバットの教授と、トゥールーズ国立高等音楽院のトロンボーン教授を兼任している。 ラサールの演奏家としてのキャリアは、彼がまだ15歳という1981年に、トゥールーズの金管古楽器アンサンブルである「レ・サックブーティエ」に参加した時から始まる。「レ・サックブーティエ」の常任メンバーとしての彼の重要な役割以外にも、彼は下記のような最高レベルの古楽グループと協力関係にある。それには、指揮者ミシェル・コルボ率いるジュネーブ・声楽アンサンブル、ジャン=クロード・マルゴワール率いる王室大厩舎・王宮付楽団、指揮者フィリップ・ヘレヴェッヘ率いるアンサンブル・ヴォカーレ・ヨーロッパ、指揮者ジョルディ・サバール率いるエスペリオンXXI、カウンターテナー歌手ドミニク・ヴィス2)率いるクレマン・ジャヌカン・アンサンブル等が含まれている。またラサールは、ウルビーノ、パリ、バルセロナ、リンツ、ラ・セウ・ドゥルジェイ)など大学で、古楽の主要な学術的な仕事にも定期的に参加している。 ラサールの豊かなディスコグラフィーをみれば、彼が、最も傑出した音楽家たちと、多数の共演をしてきたことがわかる。例えば彼は、聖母マリアの夕べの祈り（モンテヴェルディ作）の録音に5回、オペラ「オルフェオ」（モンテヴェルディ作）の録音に3回参加している。 ラサールは、シュメルツァー、バイベル、カバニールといったルネサンスやバロック時代の多くの埋もれつつあった作曲家を復活させ、その楽曲の録音に参加してきた。 古楽の演奏への取組に加えて、ダニエル・ラサールは、現代音楽の楽曲のソリストとしての演奏や、その解釈にも取り組んでいる。例えば彼は、ルチアーノ・ベリオによるソロ・トロンボーンのためのSequenza Vという楽曲のスペシャリストであり、作曲家本人の面前でも演奏している。 著作活動として、ダニエル・ラサールは、トロンボーン用のwarm-upと柔軟性に関する教則本「TrombOlympic」を最近、フレックス・エディション社から出版した。更に、同社から出版されている、「レ・サックブーティエ」の作品集として、サックバットのためのバロック音楽作品の監修も行っている。

Trombone teacher at the Toulouse Conservatoire National de Région Daniel Lassalle has acquired a leading international reputation, both as a trombonist and as a sackboy player, two instruments he practices with rare virtuosity and musicality. He won a first prize for trombone (a unanimous gold medal) and a first prize for chamber music at the Toulouse Conservatory in 1982. His qualities as an instrumentalist were also crowned by a first trombone prize unanimously from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris. A music teacher diploma and a certificate of proficiency as a trombone teacher completed his teacher training in 1984 and 1992. He is currently professor of sacqueboute at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon and trombone professor at the Conservatoire National de Région de Toulouse. His career as a performer started very early, since he joined in 1981, the old brass ensemble from Toulouse “Les Sacqueboutiers” when he was not yet fifteen years old. In addition to his key role as a permanent member of this ensemble, he collaborates with the best early music groups such as the Vocal Ensemble of Geneva and Michel Corboz, the Grande Ecurie and the Chambre du Roy and Jean-Claude Malgoire, the Royal Chapel and Philippe Herreweghe, Hesperion XXI and Jordi Savall, Ensemble Clément Janequin and Dominique Visse… He regularly participates in the work of major academies of early music such as those of Urbino, Paris, Barcelona, Linz, Seù de Urgell … His rich discography testifies to the multiplicity of collaborations he has established with the most outstanding musical personalities. He thus participated in five recordings of “Vespro della Beata Virginie”, in three recordings of Orfeo de Monteverdi. He participated in the recordings resurrection of many composers of the Renaissance and the Baroque period like Schmelzer, Biber, Cabanilles. In addition to his involvement in the performance of early music, Daniel Lassalle leads a career as a soloist and is particularly involved in the interpretation of contemporary music. He thus became a specialist in the Sequenza V for solo trombone by Luciano Berio which he played in front of the composer. Daniel Lassalle recently published at FLEX Editions a heating and flexibility method for the trombone entitled: TrombOlympic. He also co-directs at FLEX Editions the LES SACQUEBOUTIERS collection in which he publishes baroque pieces for Sacqueboute.
