玉木 優 – トロンボーン

世界各地を舞台にボーダーレスな活動を続けるソロトロンボーン奏者。兵庫県芦屋市出身。兵庫県立西宮高校音楽科、京都市立芸術大学を経て単身渡米。ミシシッピ交響楽団首席奏者、ミシシッピ大学講師、ピッツバーグ/デュケイン大学大学院助手を務めたのち帰国。小澤征爾監督の東京のオペラの森、サイトウキネンオーケストラに参加。東京佼成ウインドオーケストラに在籍後、文化庁派遣により渡欧。スイス・ベルン芸術大学を首席で修了後、南デンマークフィルハーモニー管弦楽団に入団。ラフォルジュルネ音楽祭（仏ナント）に出演。

2018年、ソロ活動に専念するために独立。以来大陸間を行き来しながら独自の活動を続けている。現在はソロ演奏を軸にオーケストラ、室内楽、教育、執筆、プロデュースなど多岐に展開。プロアルテムジケ、米国S.E.シャイアーズ社、willie’s Custom Brass社公式アーティスト。ふくたまフェスティバル音楽監督（島根県）。現在デンマーク在住。イアン・バウスフィールド、ピーター・サリヴァン、呉信一、山下浩生の各氏に師事。

近年のハイライトとしては、日本、韓国、デンマークなどでのソロリサイタル、コンチェルト共演やマスタークラス、インターナショナル・トロンボーン・フェスティバル（ITF2019・アメリカ）によるソロリサイタルやレクチャーへの招待、イアン・バウスフィールド（ソリスト）、ピーター・サリヴァン（ピッツバーグ響首席）、コリン・ウィリアムス（ニューヨークフィル副首席）、ブライアン・ヘクト（アトランタ響）など世界第一線のトロンボーン奏者らとのデュオリサイタル共演などが挙げられる。また、ソロトロンボーンの音楽表現探究のため、サミュエル・アドラー、伊藤康英、挾間美帆、ジェフリー・ゴードン、関美奈子など、世界の名だたる作曲家へ新作委嘱を行っている。異分野コラボレーションにも積極的で、青山健一（画家/映像作家/舞台美術家）、入手杏奈（ダンサー）、荻堂桂輔（リストランテ・アルテシンポジオ・オーナーシェフ）、湯村洋（眞田貿易）などと共演。

日本人金管楽器奏者として初、国際音楽コンクール世界連盟加盟の２つのコンクールと、国内最大の２つのコンクールにて入賞。第26回日本管打楽器コンクール審査員7名満場一致での第一位、第6回チェジュ国際金管楽器コンクール（韓国）第二位ほか受賞多数。ソリストとして、日本フィル、東京シティフィル、東京ニューシティ管、東京佼成ウインドなどと共演。これまでに、日本、アメリカ、スイス、デンマーク、韓国においてリサイタルを開催。2018年には1stソロアルバム”Love and Chaos”を、翌2019年には2ndアルバム”Colors for Trombone”、続いて1stシングル”Game from An;G;El”をリリース。トロンボーンデュオ『たましみず』（第22回青山音楽賞バロックザール賞受賞）、テナートロンボーン四重奏団『4 TenorBone JAPAN』、トロンボーンアンサンブル『スライドジャパン』メンバー。

Yu Tamaki Hoso – International Solo Trombonist

A Japanese Solo Trombonist active worldwide, Yu Tamaki expands his activities not only as a trombone soloist, but also orchestra and chamber musician, educator, author and producer. An official artist for Pro Arte Musicae of Tokyo, S.E.Shires Company of USA and willie’s Custom Brass of Yamanashi.

In January 2018, Yu has departed from his orchestra position in Denmark to concentrate on his soloist career. Ever since, he has been actively traveling between the continents for various events. His highlights of recent years include: solo recitals and masterclasses in Japan, South Korea and Denmark; trombone duo recitals with Ian Bousfield (soloist), Peter Sullivan (Pittsburgh Sym,), Colin Williams (NY Phil.), Brian Hecht (Atlanta Sym.); invitation to International Trombone Festival in USA for a solo recital, ensemble and lecture, creative collaborations with Keisuke Ogido (Ristorante Arte Simposio), Anna Irite (dancer), Yo Yumura (Sanada Co.) , Kenichi Aoyama (painter/videographer) and Ayano Jo (pianist); commissioning new works for solo trombone to the world renown composers such as: Samuel Adler, Yasuhide Ito, Miho Hazama, Geoffrey Gordon and Minako Seki, aiming for progressive expansion of musical language of solo trombone.

As a soloist, Yu has had frequent appearances with Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic, Tokyo City Philharmonic, Tokyo New City Orchestra and others. Yu has given many solo recitals in Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Kyoto, Ibaraki, Shimane), USA, Switzerland, Denmark and South Korea. Also various Trombone Societies’ have invited him for their events, such as International Trombone Festival of USA, Japan Trombone Association, Kansai Trombone Association, Shonan Trombone Association and Okayama Trombone Association. First solo album “Love and Chaos” released in 2018. Second album “Colors for Trombone” and first single “Game from An;G;El” were released in 2019 and both are available on iTunes/Apple Music and other streaming services.

As an active educator, Yu has held lectures, clinics and master classes in all Japan’s major cities. Yu has had the rare opportunity to earn international education in Japan, United States and Europe. These experiences put him in a position to offer a unique perspective and broader opportunity to the next generation and future of Japan. Since 2014, he has been conducting workshops for young professionals. Fully sponsored by Tokyo metropolitan government in 2016, and by Pro Arte Musicae and Shinjuku ward office of Tokyo, held as the Ian Bousfield/Yu Tamaki Trombone Academy.

Yu has written monthly articles on “Band Journal”(Ongaku No Tomo Sha Co.), “Challenging to the World”(30 issues) in 2014-2016 and “One Point Lessons”(12 issues) in 2012-2013. Also he has been featured on interviews in the “Pipers” (Sugihara Shoten Co.) for their many issues.

As a chamber musician, Yu is a member of Trombone Duo “Tama-Shimizu”, “4 TenorBones Japan” trombone quartet, “Slide Japan” trombone ensemble.

2008年、東京藝術大学で共に研鑽を積んだ卒業生及び学部生で結成。結成当初からコンサートの出演はもちろん、各地のトロンボーンフェスティバル等のイベントやチャリティー活動など幅広い活動を展開している。中でもメンバーによる作編曲作品は、トロンボーンという楽器の魅力やそれぞれの持ち味を生かしたものとなっており、このカルテットの中心レパートリーとなっている。またコミカルな寸劇などを交えた音楽劇などのパフォーマンスも好評を得ており、トロンボーンカルテットの枠にとらわれないステージを展開している。

2012年の1stアルバム『Departure』を皮切りに、Studio Opus55より、これまでに４枚のアルバムを発売。1stアルバム発売以降、スプリングツアーと題し全国各地で公演を行い、好評を博している。また、NHK-FM「リサイタル・ノヴァ」やNHK教育テレビ「ららら♪クラシック」などにも出演し、好評を博している。

In 2008, Twilight Trombone Quartet was formed by graduates and undergraduates who studied together at Tokyo University of the Arts. From the beginning, they have performed a wide variety of activities including performing at concerts, conducting trombone festivals or charity activities. Among them, the composition and arrangement work by members makes use of the charm of and the unique characteristics of the trombone, and it is the central repertoire of the quartet.

In addition, their performances such as music dramas with comical skits have also been well-received, and they are developing stages that are not bound by the trombone quartet.

With their first album “Departure” in 2012 as a start, they have released four albums so far from Studio Opus55. Since the release of the 1st album, it has performed around the country under the title “Spring Tour” and has been well received. They have also appeared on NHK-FM “Recital Nova” and on NHK Educational TV “LaLaLa♪ Classic”, which have been well received.

2011年2月、二人のバストロンボーン奏者、NHK交響楽団の黒金寛行、読売日本交響楽団の篠崎卓美は

共に福島県いわき市の出身だったことから、

「一度きり」のつもりで演奏会を地元で開催する。

しかし、翌月3月にあの東日本大震災が故郷を襲った。

一度きりだったこのトリオは故郷の為、数回に渡るチャリティーコンサートを震災翌月から開始。

さらに、制作したチャリティーCDは

異色の編成ながら異例の大ヒット。

その後、当初より活動を共にしていたピアニスト城綾乃と共に「Trio Sync.」として、新たに活動を開始。

東京、大阪、名古屋でのコンサートや

毎年3月に故郷いわきでの演奏会、そして「いわきトロンボーンキャンプ」と称したイベントを開催し、

後進の指導、音楽の楽しさを伝える活動も精力的に行っている。

二本のバストロンボーンとピアノという一風変わったトリオではあるが

新作の委嘱、アレンジなど、レパートリーも広く、

三人のシンクロするアンサンブルは

高い評価を得ている。

Trio Sync.

In February 2011, two bass trombone players, Hiroyuki Kurogane of the NHK Symphony Orchestra and Takumi Shinozaki of the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra held a local concert with the intention of “one time only” because  both were from Iwaki city, Fukushima Prefecture.

However, the Great East Japan Earthquake struck his hometown in March of the following month.

This trio, which was only once, started several charity concerts the following month for the hometown.

In addition, their charity CD made an unusual smash hit despite its unique composition.

After that, they started a new activity as “Trio Sync.” with the pianist Ayano Jo, who had been active from the beginning.

They also actively teach young players and communicate the joy of music through their concerts in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya, or every March concert  in hometown Iwaki and an event called “Iwaki Trombone Camp”

This is an unusual trio of two bass trombones and a piano, but their repertoire is wide, including commissions for new works and arrangements. And their three synchronized ensembles have a high reputation.

セゲド・トロンボーンアンサンブルは2006年、ジョルジュ・ジヴィチャーンによりセゲド大学で彼に指示するメンバーにより選出され結成された。以来、数多くのコンサートをハンガリー国内で開催し大きな成功を収め、2012年にはジヴィチャーンへの師事によりアーティストとなったメンバーをベースとしてグループが再編された。メンバーの多くはジヴィチャーンへの師事ののち、さらにスイス、ドイツ、アメリカといった国々に留学し、室内楽や管弦楽団のメンバーやソリスト、また、ポルトガルやベネズエラ、ブラジルで教鞭を取るなど、多岐にわたり活躍している。

このアンサンブルはブラス音楽文化を体現しており、より高い水準を目指して研鑽を重ねている。さらに、グループは音楽アートディレクターとしてのジョルジュ・ジヴィチャーンとともに、トロンボーンという楽器の多用性を示すことを目指している。このグループのたゆみない楽器の可能性の追及とチーム・スピリットにより、幅広いレパートリーの中ではフルオーケストラのような響きが聞こえるであろう。

グループのレパートリーには数多くの編曲からなる作品が含まれる。それはルネサンス、古典派、ロマン派、現代音楽のみならず、レパートリーにより彩りを添える、ジャズやポピュラー音楽、映画のサウンドトラックなどの作品も演奏している。

編曲は、グループのメンバー、アロン・シモンが行っている。シモンは音楽コーディネーターや司会の役割も担っており、彼らのコンサートではその素晴らしい音楽に加えて、シモンによる作品や作曲家、使われている楽器についての解説も聞くことができる。

The Szeged Trombone Ensemble was founded by György Gyivicsán in 2006. Members had been selected from his pupils from University of Szeged. The ensemble has attended local and institutional occasions like Vántus István Contemporary Music Days and Szeged Artistic Academy but they performed their first concerts in 2009 in Szeged. Since their debut the concert takes place in University of Szeged – Faculty of Music during spring every year which attracts audience from all over of the region of Szeged. During 2010 the band performed numerous concerts in Békéscsaba and Szeged hosted by Philharmonic of Eastern Hungary. After the premier of Roundtrip – composed by Balázs Horváth – the ensemble had two weeks tour during the fall of 2011 in Germany combined with a CD recording. In 2012 the 10th National Brass Competition of Hungary was opened with the concert of Szeged Trombone Ensemble in Kiskunfélegyháza. During the summer the group recorded three transcriptions selected from Liszt Ferenc and Richard Strauss in order to comply the request of Ordo Hungarie.

Still in 2012, after exceeding preliminary expectations, the group has decided to re-establish the Szeged Trombone Ensemble on a new basis and proceeds with the already graduated pupils. The majority of the members of the group became artists by the teachings of György Gyivicsán and most of them continued their studies abroad in different countries like Switzerland, Germany and USA and joined chamber-, philharmonic orchestras or as a soloist. Some of them led courses in Portugal, Venezuela and Brasilia. 

The ensemble represents brass music culture that is less known in Hungary and strives for high quality standards. Besides the group also aims to demonstrate the versatility of their instrument with their music art director, György Gyivicsán. The group has a wide range of repertoire and according to the continuous development of their instruments and team spirit they sound almost like a big symphony orchestra.

Because of the unique formation of the group the audience can hear and enjoy mostly transcriptions of compositions. The repertoire includes renaissance, classic, romantic and contemporary music. To make the repertoire more colorful the Szeged Trombone Ensemble plays jazz, pop music and soundtrack compositions as well.

The transcriptions are made by a member of the group, Mr. Áron Simon who also holds music coordinator and spokesman role in our concerts. Therefore the audience can hear exciting and interesting stories about the compositions, composers and about the used instruments as well upon the great music. ステファン・シュルツは、最初はホルンを学び始めたが、後にトロンボーンを専攻し、ベルリンとシカゴで研鑽を積んだ。ベルリンフィルハーモニー管弦楽団のメンバーになる前は、1993年から2002年までベルリン国立歌劇場のバストロンボーン奏者で、1996年から2002年までは、バイロイト祝祭管弦楽団でも演奏した。

彼は、音楽活動を始めた当初から、音楽教育にも取り組んでおり、まずベルリン国立歌劇場のオーケストラアカデミーの指導者と、ハノーファー音楽演劇大学の講師として教育活動を始めた。その後シュルツは、2000年から2004年までのハンス・アイスラー音楽大学客員教授を経て、2004年の夏学期以降はベルリン芸術大学教授となり後進の指導にあたっている。

ソロトロンボーン奏者としてステファン・シュルツは、ベルリン放送交響楽団、ハンブルクフィルハーモニー、ドレスデン・フィルハーモニー、コロンバス交響楽団などの有名なオーケストラと協演してきている。

彼はまた、熱心な室内楽奏者である。例えばベルリンフィルハーモニー・ブラスアンサンブルの常任メンバーであり、ジャーマンブラスアンサンブルの常連客演奏者でもある。更にトロンボーン奏者のジョセフ・アレッシ、ミシェル・ベッケ、ヨルゲン・ファン・ライエンとともに、ワールド・トロンボーン・カルテットを設立している。

ステファン・シュルツは、作曲家兼サクソフォン奏者のダニエル・シュナイダーと特別な芸術的友好関係を持っている。シュナイダーの作品のいくつかを、彼が初演してCDに収録しており、更にピアニストのマルチン・グロホヴィナと一緒に、ダニエル・シュナイダー・トリオとしても活動している。

また近年シュルツは、ジャン・ミッシェル・デフェイ、ニールス・マーチンセン、ポール・ルーダースの新作を初演しCDに録音している。

Stefan Schulz initially played horn and later changed to trombone. He studied in Berlin and Chicago. Before he became a member of the Berliner Philharmoniker, he was bass trombonist with the Staatskapelle Berlin from 1993 to 2002. From 1996 to 2002, he also played in the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra.

His commitment to education has accompanied his musical career from the beginning: first as a mentor with the Orchestra Academy of the Staatskapelle Berlin, and as a lecturer at the University of Music, Drama and Media Hanover.

From 2000 to 2004, he taught as a visiting professor at the Academy of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin. Since the summer semester of 2004, Stefan Schulz has been a professor at the Berlin University of the Arts.

Stefan Schulz has performed as a soloist with renowned orchestras including the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin, the Hamburg Philharmonic, Dresden Philharmonic, Columbus Symphony etc.

He is a dedicated chamber musician and is a permanent member of the Brass Ensemble of the Berliner Philharmoniker and regular guest with the ensemble German Brass. Together with the trombonists Joseph Alessi, Michel Bequet and Jorgen van Rijen, he founded the World Trombone Quartet.

A special artistic friendship links him with the composer and saxophonist Daniel Schnyder, some of whose works he has premiered and recorded on CD. Together with pianist Marcin Grochowina, he plays in the Daniel Schnyder Trio.

Other composers whose works the trombonist has premiered and recorded on CD in recent years include Jean Michel Defaye, Niels Marthinsen and Poul Ruders.

国際的に活躍する8名の日本人トロンボーン奏者たちが、2014年夏、東京に結集。様々なバックグラウンドを持つメンバーそれぞれのユニークな個性と経験が出会い、日本を代表するグループへの成長を目指すだけでなく、世界を見据えた幅広い活動を展開しています。2015年夏のデビューコンサートシリーズ”TAKE OFF”では「純国産チーム」による新しいトロンボーンアンサンブルの形を提唱し、各方面で多大なる反響をいただきました。2016年春には記念すべきCD第1弾をレコーディングし発表するとともに、夏にはさらに高みを目指して”FLY HIGH”と題し、映画音楽やタンゴなど新しい音楽に挑戦しました。2017年秋の第3回はメンバーたちの専門領域ともいえる”SYMPHONIC”～この言葉をテーマにして選んだ音楽の数々をお届けしました。8人がこれまでの活動を通じて培ってきた結晶の数々をプログラムに、ITF2020に臨みます。ぜひご期待ください！

Eight internationally renowned Japanese trombonists gathered in Tokyo in the summer of 2014. With a variety of unique personalities, experiences, and different backgrounds each member has brought about a “chemical reaction”, with the goal to make this group recognized internationally.

The Slide Japan demonstrates a new standard of ensemble playing and created a sensational debut at the concert series “TAKE OFF” in the summer of 2015. Their first album, recorded in the spring of 2016, was released during their second concert series “FLY HIGH” that same summer. For this album the group commissioned some big arrangements featuring ancient, movie and tango music. During the third concert series “SYMPHONIC”, in the autumn 2017, they collected various music under the keyword “symphonic”.

The program of the Slide Japan at the ITF2020 will be a crystallization of their activities and thoughts over the last 6 years!

Mikio Nitta

Mikio Nitta graduated from Osaka College of Music.

He  studied  the trombone with Shinichi Go and Nitzan Haroz and studied chamber music with  Daniel Doyon.

After working at the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra and the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, he is currently the chief trombone player of the NHK Symphony Orchestra.

He often appears in the Mito Chamber Orchestra and Japan Virtuoso Symphony Orchestra.

In 2019, he was invited to Alessi Seminar in Asia as an assistant instructor for Joseph Alessi.

He has performed with many international players, including Radek Baborak and Sergei Nakariakov, and is active in solos and ensembles in Japan and overseas.

He is a guest associate professor of Tokyo College of Music, a visiting Professor of Osaka College of Music and a Lecturer at Nihon University College of Art. He is a member of Hybrid Trombone Quartet, Trio Diesel and Brass code12.

〈ルミエール・トロンボーン・カルテット〉

2018年6月、関西のプロオーケストラ所属の若手トロンボーン奏者(田中裕香、戸井田晃和、福田えりみ、笠野望）で結成。

「関西のトロンボーン業界、そしてトロンボーンカルテットを盛り上げよう！」をコンセプトに活動開始。

2019年1月、豊中にてお披露目となるロビーコンサートを実施。

2019年12/9、三木楽器開成館にて1stリサイタルを開催。好評を博す。

各所属団体での経験を活かし技術や知識を融合することで、トロンボーンカルテットの新たな可能性や世界観を追求し活動している。

Lumiere quartet (by Hiroka Tanaka, Akikazu Toida, Erimi Fukuda and Nozomi Kasano) was established in June 2018 with young trombone players from professional orchestras in Kansai. They started their performances based on their shared vision to “Vitalize the trombone community and trombone quartets in Kansai!”

In January 2019, a lobby concert was held at Toyonaka for their debut.

On December 9, 2019, the quartet’s 1st recital was held at the Miki gakki Kaisei Building. It was very well received.

They pursue new possibilities and world views of the trombone quartet by combining their techniques and knowledge from their experience in each orchestra.

東京都羽村市出身。2014年に国立音楽大学を卒業。卒業時に矢田部賞を受賞。在学中の2013年に東京都交響楽団に入団。2018年まで1番、2番トロンボーン奏者を務め、東京メトロポリタン・トロンボーン・クァルテットのメンバーとしても活躍。これまでに、ソリストとしてアッペルモントのトロンボーン協奏曲「カラーズ」で幾つかの吹奏楽団と共演し、好評を博した。読売新人演奏会に出演し、東京・春・音楽祭やレゾナンス〈鎌倉の響き〉音楽祭などにも参加。トロンボーンを小田桐寛之、箱山芳樹、池上亘、下島昌史の各氏に師事。スライドジャパン、メンバー。現在、読売交響楽団において首席トロンボーン奏者を務める。

Kou Aoki

Kou Aoki was born in Hamura City, Tokyo. He graduated from Kunitachi College of Music with Yatabe prize in 2014. He joined the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra in 2013 while in college. He was the first and second trombone player until 2018 and also performed as a member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Trombone Quartet. (So far, )He has performed Appermont’ Trombone Concerto “Colors” with several wind orchestras, and these performances received well deserved applause. He also performed at the Yomiuri Rookie Concert and participated in the Spring Festival in Tokyo and the Resonance Concert Series in Kamakura. He studied the trombone with Hiroyuki Odagiri, Yoshiki Hakoyama, Kou Ikegami, and Masafumi Shimojima. He is a member of Slide Japan and currently is a principal trombonist at Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra.
